Forbes challenges the Copenhagen interpretation of quantum mechanics, the standard framework that treats measurement as fundamentally random and refuses to describe what happens between observations. Instead, he draws on alternative interpretations that assign physical reality to quantum processes. The Transactional Interpretation of Quantum Mechanics (TIQM), developed by John Cramer, describes quantum interactions as a "handshake" between advanced waves (traveling backward in time) and retarded waves (traveling forward in time). This interpretation naturally explains entanglement, the double-slit experiment, and quantum teleportation without invoking multiple universes or observer-dependent collapse.

The ER=EPR conjecture, proposed by Juan Maldacena and Leonard Susskind in 2013, provides perhaps the most profound connection in Forbes' thesis. It proposes that every pair of entangled particles (EPR pairs, after Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen) is connected by a microscopic wormhole (Einstein-Rosen bridge). If true, entanglement isn't "spooky action at a distance"; it's geometry. Two entangled particles are literally connected through a shortcut in spacetime. Forbes argues this isn't merely theoretical: it's the operating principle behind the technology observed in the MH370 footage, where objects appear to create and traverse Einstein-Rosen bridges.

GEM (Gravitational ElectroMagnetic) Unification represents a theory where gravitational and electromagnetic fields are aspects of the same underlying phenomenon. Sakharov's radiation pressure gravity hypothesis extends this by proposing that gravity isn't a fundamental force but an emergent effect, a residual pressure from zero-point fluctuations pushing matter together. If gravity emerges from the electromagnetic vacuum, then manipulating electromagnetic fields could directly alter gravitational effects. The connection between rotating charge systems and spacetime coupling provides a potential mechanism: rapidly rotating charged matter generates frame-dragging effects that modify local spacetime geometry.

The Aharonov-Bohm effect, experimentally confirmed in the 1980s, demonstrates that electromagnetic potentials (not just fields) have physical reality. A charged particle passing through a region with zero electric and magnetic fields but non-zero electromagnetic potential still experiences a measurable phase shift. This means the potential is more fundamental than the field, a result with profound implications for field propulsion concepts. If potentials are physically real, then technologies that manipulate potentials directly could produce effects (including gravitational effects) without requiring the enormous field strengths predicted by conventional approaches.
