Independent reference: Wikipedia's Polywell article, citing Bussard's 2006 paper, confirms WB-6 ran D-D fusion at 12.5 kV with the rate built on a small neutron count. Mainstream fusion physics regards p-B11 as prohibitively difficult due to higher ignition temperatures than D-T; that's the context for Bussard's projection but not for the WB-6 result itself.
Bussard acknowledged the WB-6 demonstration achieved fusion rates, not net energy, at high recirculating power. The beta-one achievement, a proof of principle for cusp confinement scaling, established an engineering pathway to gain rather than gain itself.
