The boundary dividing the closed magnetic field line region (internal) from the open field line sheath (external) in a compact toroid. The radius R defines this boundary.

UAP Orbs Are Field-Reversed Configuration Compact Toroids
The spherical plasma orbs observed in UAP footage are not exotic alien technology but man-made (or naturally occurring) field-reversed configuration devices known as compact toroids. These have a closed magnetic field line region inside a separatrix (containing the power source/fusion reactor) and an open field line sheath outside (the visible plasma). The orbs exhaust energy through axial open field lines and maintain stability through diamagnetic equilibrium currents.
